Test Modes and Settings
Every Test tab mode and duration, the 7 supported languages, and the editor/appearance options in Settings.
The Test tab is where most people start. It has five modes and, for Timed mode, four durations, plus a language selector and a Settings panel for appearance and sound.
The five test modes
- Timed - type for a fixed duration (15s, 30s, 60s or 120s); the default is 30s
- Words - type a set number of words instead of racing a clock
- Quote - type a real-world passage rather than a list of random words
- Code - practice on code-like text, including punctuation and symbols
- Custom - set up a test using your own text or settings
Live stats while you type
Every mode shows WPM, Accuracy, Time Left (or progress) and Errors, with a secondary line for Raw WPM, Net WPM and your current day Streak. A "Day Streak" banner tracks consecutive days of practice.
Languages
The language selector offers 7 options: English, Urdu (اردو), Hindi (हिन्दी), Spanish (Español), French (Français), German (Deutsch) and Arabic (العربية). Switching language changes both the test text and the surrounding interface labels.
Settings panel
The gear icon opens Settings, covering:
- Sound - on/off and volume, using synthesized Web Audio (no sound files)
- Keyboard click style - Silent, Soft, Medium or Clicky
- Caret style - Beam, Block or Underline
- Theme - Dark or Light
- Tutorial - replay the onboarding walkthrough
- Keyboard shortcuts - a quick reference, also available via Ctrl+?
- Data - "Everything is stored only in this browser," with a "Reset all data" control
Keyboard shortcuts
Tab restarts the current test, Esc stops it early, and Ctrl+? opens the shortcuts reference at any time.
