Privacy and Data

What Typing Master stores, where it stores it, and what - if anything - leaves your browser.

Typing Master has no account system anywhere in the app. Its Settings panel states directly, under Data: "Everything is stored only in this browser." No email, password or personal profile is ever requested, across the Test, Learn, Race, Leaderboard and Certificate pages alike.

What stays on your device

  • Your test and race history, used to build the Leaderboard
  • Your per-finger error heatmap
  • Your appearance and sound preferences (theme, caret style, keyboard click sound, volume)
  • Your day streak

None of this is uploaded to a server for the Test, Learn, Race, Leaderboard or Certificate features - the certificate itself is generated client-side from your locally stored result.

Resetting your data

Settings includes a "Reset all data" control, and the Leaderboard page has a separate "Reset heatmap data" control, so you can clear either independently at any time.

Background analytics

A basic, privacy-oriented traffic-analytics beacon runs in the background to measure overall site traffic; it is not tied to your typing results, your name, or any account, since there is no account to tie it to. No ad network or additional tracking script was found on any page.

No login means no sync

Because everything is local, your leaderboard, heatmap and settings will not follow you to a different browser or device - clearing your browser data, or using a different browser, starts you fresh.

What this means for the certificate

The downloadable certificate is generated the same way: entirely in your browser from your own locally stored result, with no server round-trip and no copy kept anywhere else.
